FAQ

Frequently Asked Camping Questions

“How do I contact you to ask a question?”

I am available for contact by email at elizabeth@dragonsbeardfarm.com; however, please keep in mind that we are only two people and can only answer emails so quickly. We will respond to emails as quickly as we are able.

Is there a shower on site?

Unfortunately, we have no shower facilities on site. We would love to upgrade our site in the future with this amenity, so please check back frequently for updates. Guests in our glamping tent have a private bathroom on the deck, equipped with a foot pump activated hand washing sink with soap, and a self-contained portable toilet available for their use.  There is currently no plumbing available at the tent.

"Is there a kitchen available?"

We don't currently offer a full kitchen, but the glamping tent does have a fire pit and a propane gas flat top grill available for use by all of our guests. The flat top grill also has some basic grilling utensils; if you need additional utensil or dishes, let us know and we are happy to help as much as we can. We are also happy to provide firewood upon request.

"Is there internet available?"

We are happy to provide wifi through Starlink, as well as power to our guests in the tent. The network name and password are provided upon reservation. However, please be advised that the internet we provide is satellite internet; while we do our best to provide a consistent connection, in imperfect weather situations, it is likely that the internet will be very slow or unavailable.

"What can I expect to find inside the tent?"

The tent comes furnished with a king-sized bed with pillows and linens, including a heated blanket for chilly nights; two full sized papasan chairs; several small tables for charging small portable devices; a mini fridge (no freezer) stocked with non dairy creamer and water; a microwave; a drip coffee pot with coffee filters; mugs for coffee and tea provided; honey and sugar; a small set of plastic dishes; and a small selection of books and games for kids and adults. There are several power outlets and the lamps on the side tables next to the bed are also each equipped with usb outlets to charge your phone or tablet. There is also a fan available for hot weather and a portable propane heater for cold weather. The tent is also equipped with a carbon monoxide monitor and a fire extinguisher for safety.

"Do you provide breakfast?"

We like to provide a small breakfast of fresh fruit and a freshly baked good to your tent deck each morning of your stay. Please advise us if you have any dietary restrictions so we can make sure not to provide anything you are unable to enjoy.

“How do I book a stay?”

We are listed on AirBnB and on HipCamp for you to book. For safety and security reasons, we currently only book through one of these vendors.

"Is your property kid friendly?"

We welcome kids of all ages! There is a playground available for them to play on; many kids enjoy the farm area; interacting with the animals can be exciting. We have a small child ourself who absolutely loves hosting other kids and would love to become their newest best friend.

"Is your property pet friendly?"

We welcome your pets! For the safety of everyone, we do ask that all pets are leashed while on our property. We have two large working farm dogs who reside in their own fenced area, but crazy things can happen, especially when it comes to animals. Please be aware that we also have free-ranging chickens and a free-range cat who roam the property.

"Can I meet the animals?"

Absolutely! While staying on our property, guests are welcomed and encouraged to meander the property and explore the farm and garden area. We do have chickens and a cat who all basically have free roam of the property; however, the chickens will likely just run away and the cat hides from strangers. The goats will ask for pets and snacks; you're welcome to feed them clover, dandelion, plantain, and grass from the ground. If you want to meet them up close and personally, please let us know and we will be happy to let you into their enclosure for hugs and cuddles. Please do not open any closed doors or enclosures on your own.

"Is there a playground for kids?"

There is a playground available for kids (big and small) to play on. We just ask that you watch your step going into the trampoline as it can be muddy or crumbly right now. We are working to repair this.

"Is your site ADA accessible?"

Unfortunately, at this time, our site is not accessible for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility. This is something we are working to resolve currently, but has proven to be a challenge due to our mountainous terrain. We appreciate your patience while we make our space more accessible for people of all abilities to enjoy.

Frequently Asked Coaching Questions

“How do I contact you to ask a question?”

I am available for contact by email at elizabeth@dragonsbeardfarm.com; however, please keep in mind that I only respond to emails once a week. If you have an emergency, please indicate that it is an emergency in the subject line of your email, or you can send me a chat or text message for a faster response.

“How do I check in with you?”

Each week, I ask that you complete my weekly check in form, in which you are given the opportunity to provide all of the information needed to help make your program better. We will also check in biweekly via video call, primarily Skype, for a 30 minute call. If you require a longer call than that, please let me know ahead of time so I can carve out the appropriate amount of time to be able to fully assist you.

“How do payments work?”

You will receive a biweekly invoice reminder to pay via PayPal for your program. Should you have any questions specific for your payment, please email me at elizabeth@dragonsbeardfarm.com so that I can fully address your concerns.

“What if I don’t know how to perform an exercise included in the workout?”

All of the exercises in the workout program are accompanied by a demonstration video (they're not all of me, I'm still working on building that library). If you don't think you can perform a movement as written in your program for any reason, just let me know and we will work together to find a more appropriate movement for you.

“Do I need to be a member of a gym?”

A gym membership will be highly beneficial, but not required. Your program can be completed at home with or without gym equipment.

“Do I need to purchase any equipment?”

No equipment is required to be purchased in order to complete my programs. You can easily do these movements with no equipment at all, or by using things you have lying around the house. If you're not sure what to use, I'm always available to help you.

“Do I need to download any software?”

No software is needed unless you want to download a food tracker app. Your program is available via Google Sheets - all you need is an internet connection. If you are traveling or otherwise unable to access the internet, your program can be made available offline as well.

“How strict does my diet need to be?”

Your diet can be as strict as you want it to be. However, keep in mind that you must eat for your goals. I prefer not to set strict regimens to which you have to adhere; this makes it feel restrictive and less enjoyable. I want you to enjoy your food! That being said, I am not a registered dietician or nutritionist and do not prescribe meal plans. If that is something you feel you need, I will happily provide a referral to someone for you.

“Can I still drink alcohol on your program?”

My goal is to help you develop lifelong, sustainable nutrition habits that help you get closer and closer to your fitness and health goals every day. While it would be ideal not to drink alcohol, I realize that it is highly unlikely that you will never drink alcohol again for the rest of your life. That being said, if you choose to drink alcohol, my recommendation is to drink in moderation, and account for the alcohol within your daily intake.

“How do I track my food intake?”

Tracking is not required, but if you are willing and able, or just REALLY want, to track your food, you can use whichever method works best for you. The most popular method is to use the Myfitnesspal app to track your food. With this app, you can add me as your friend and make your diary visible to me, and I will be able to view your diary as well. This will allow me to help you more precisely with any nutrition issues you might be having. I also offer a simple nutrition tracking tool through Google Sheets, which tracks your daily intake of portions of macronutrients and veggies in a checkbox style.

“Is there a cancellation policy?”

While I would love to have you as my client forever, I understand that, for various reasons, we may need to part ways. If such a situation should arise, I simply ask that you provide a 30-day notice, or as much notice as possible.
